A unique feature of Eat Here’s Siesta Bar will be the opportunity to steal cheese.
Classic bar scenes in Old Nova Scotia taverns featured a round of sharp cheddar on butcher block and a bowl of ginger snaps. The ginger snaps were a perfect foil (a touch spicy and sweet) for the “Rat Trap” cheddar (sharp and intensely flavored).
The cheese was bait. Men were drawn by the cheese and then spent their money on the beer.
Every evening our new bar lounge area will feature complimentary extra sharp cheddar with snaps. Come steal our cheese.
Sean Murphy dragged his Baby Grand Piano from his old haunts at The Concession into the his new bar at Siesta Key last week. To ward off wannabe Liberace’s practicing “Chopstix” and “Happy Birthday” a simple sign on the shuttered keyboard threatened …”Don’t even think about it.”
The sign is coming off Thursday night.
Nationally renowned piano man Wally “Gator” Sirotich will be opening with a special one-night preview on Thursday evening from 8:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Wally boasts a stellar history of performances with Steely Dan, the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, the Toler Brothers and Bo Didley.
Sean is looking forward to Wally recreating some of his great piano bar entertainment that rocked the Lone Star Cafe in New York.
Sean is optimistic that Wally Gator will deign to become the resident musician at Siesta Key just as Twinkle and band have become the resident musicians at Murphy’s “rooftop bar” at his Sarasota Eat Here location. When The Gator’s schedule is rounded out he will be bringing joy to the crowd at the Eat Here on Siesta every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
Eat Here’s kitchen and bars will be serving up great food and drink while Wally is serving up Sinatra, Beatles tunes and some of his own creative pieces.
Visit us Thursday for the preview … eat, drink and be merry at the new piano bar on Siesta Key.
