Free drinks during Sarasota Film Festival 2014

Written by

The 16th annual Sarasota Film Festival continues to put our community in the international spotlight by celebrating the best independent films in the world.

Each year the festival features full length films, documentaries, shorts and even kid-friendly showings that will introduce the whole family in the art of filmmaking.

Children can watch for free at the festivals youthFEST program, which will feature Disney classics, the Oscar-nominated Ernest & Celestine and a beach screening of The Little Mermaid.

Adults are promised an incredible experience as well with a stacked lineup including John Slattery’s God's Pocket, featuring Philip Seymour Hoffman in one of his final screen performances. The film will show at the Sarasota Opera House, just a few short blocks from our eat here restaurant in Downtown Sarasota.

The festival, which runs from April, 4-13, will kick of with the Last Days of Vietnam at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall at 7:00pm, an unforgettable story of heroism and compromise in the face of hardship.

The Festival Box Office is conveniently located inside Regal Cinemas Hollywood 20, just across the street from our eat here restaurant and parking deck on the corner of Links and Main in downtown Sarasota.

We have all the parking in the free world out back. We recommend avoiding the traffic war zone by enjoying dinner with friends and family at eat here before walking a short distance to the show. Afterword, discuss the movie over a craft cocktail at Sarasota’s new Rooftop bar...the Sazerac comes highly recommended by local media...

The first round is on us…from April 4-13, show your waiter or bar tender your ticket stub, and you will receive a free glass of wine. It’s our understanding that movies are best digested with friends and libations.

Happy viewing!
