Sean hails from Nova Scotia, and has a law degree from Dalhousie Law School, the “Harvard of the North.” His law degree hangs in the Beach Bistro men's room. Running from a career in law, he followed his passion for food to New Orleans where he trained under the tutelage of industry renowned
Archie Casbarian at Arnaud's before relocating to Longboat Key where he worked with Doc Klauber of The Colony.
Sean and his wife Susan founded the now world-famous Beach Bistro, which has been enthroned in ZAGAT’s “Top Restaurants in America,” Florida Trend’s Golden Spoon “Hall of Fame” and was recently the site of an Emeril Lagasse television feature as a top Florida restaurant.
Sean has spread his passion for great food and service to include food writing and consulting for a variety of great food endeavors.

Sean believes that only two things get him into heaven: he has made some people happy in his restaurants, and he started his own St. Patrick's Day Parade…After a couple of glasses of wine he also believes he can tell a good Irish joke!
